Special Offers & Reports » AP Appreciation Week!
Accounts Payable Appreciation Week
During Accounts Payable Appreciation week, usually in the Fall, we celebrate the hard work our readers do day in and day out throughout the year. We sponsor a special giveaway so everyone who participates gets something and we also host a low-cost Webinar. In 2008 we added a special set of our products at a reduced cost. Our goal with this offering was to give those who wanted it an opportunity to sample several of our products at a low price.
Details about the 2011 Free webinar can be seen here.

What will we do in 2009?
We’ve been trying to come up with a unique celebration for Accounts Payable Recognition Week, a way to show we appreciate the hard working professionals who work in and manage the expenditure function. While we’d like to give everyone something really spiffy, like a treat to a day spa, that’s not in the budget. So last minute Susie here finally settled upon a two-pronged approach—and one we’ve never taken before.
The first portion will be a set of six to eight articles, The Best of AP Now in 2009. We’re in the process of selecting the articles right now and will send them to any reader who asks. They’ll be waiting for you when you come in on October 19—the first day of Accounts Payable Appreciation/Recognition week. (We realize that while we’re calling it Appreciation week, others are referring to it as Recognition week). Once this week has passed, we’ll put the publication on sale for $39.99, so don’t wait. To get your copy, send an e-mail to publisher@ap-now.com with the words AP Appreciation in the subject line.
The second prong will be brand new for us. We'll let the dust settle, then on Thursday, November 5th, we’ll host our very first AP Now Question & Answer Hour. Do you have a pressing accounts payable question you’d like expert’s view on? Wonder what’s the best way to handle a given situation or that a particular practice you are using in your accounts payable department may be opening the door for fraud? And maybe you need help explaining all of this to your boss. AP Now’s Question & Answer Hour was specially designed to help you.
Whether you’ve got a problem or issue you want discussed or want to learn from the questions others ask, we think you’ll find our new, just-in-time-for-AP-Appreciation-Week, Q&A Hour exceedingly informative. Here’s how it will work: every attendee can ask as many questions as they like, submitted ahead of time. We promise to answer at least the first question on your list---more if time permits. You may not have any pressing issues but you’ll still want to join to hear the problems (and solutions to those problems) your peers are facing. There’s a lot to be learned from the tribulations of others.
To make this event available to everybody, we’re trying to keep the cost down so it will be an audio event only. (There will be no certificates of attendance issued afterwards.) And, to celebrate AP Recognition week, we’ll have a (one-time) low, low price. For just $29.95 your entire staff can attend this session (assuming, of course, you use a speaker phone). Because of our guarantee to answer at least one question from each attendee, space at this event is limited. Once you register, e-mail your questions to publisher@ap-now.com with the words Q&A Hour in the subject line.
The 2008 Celebration
Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow held a drawing for books. We identified five of our titles and gave away one a day for the first four days of the week. On the fifth day, the winner had a choice of a $40 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble or a library of accounts payable books written by our editorial director. We’re pleased to say the winner took the library of AP books.
Here’s how it worked. On Monday we picked that day’s winner and notified them by e-mail. They were given a list of books available and asked to choose the one they wanted. The same happened on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We’ll ran it like the beauty contests—if you won one of the prizes earlier in the week, you wouldn’t be the grand prize winner.
And, of course, since we like to make sure that everyone gets something, we’ll had three other celebrations. Everyone who entered the contest got a handout with excerpts from several books. This went out on Monday. Receiving this did not mean you didn’t win one of the big prizes. As an added bonus, we were able to include links to chapters of a number of our books.
As mentioned above, we also put together a $99 special. This included a variety of our publications that normally sell for much more with a special bonus for paid subscribers to our Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow newsletter. (What was that company slogan? Membership has its privileges?) Finally, we scheduled a low-cost Webinar actually held it in November. The reason for this was our Obliterate Duplicate Payments Webinar series held in the month of October. CDs of this outstanding event are still available.
The 2007 Celebration
This was our first celebration. Here’s the press release.
Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow Celebrates AP Recognition Week with Its Readers
October 15-19 is Accounts Payable Recognition Week and Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow is excited about helping our readers celebrate their achievements. While we’d like to send balloons and champagne, sadly that’s not really financially feasible. However, we’ve devised a few gifts and activities everyone can have fun with, all at virtually no cost. With the exception of the Thursday event, those who sign up will find our tokens of appreciation waiting for them in their e-mail in-boxes each morning. Here’s what we’ve got planned.
Monday October 15: We’ll have a new Sudoku-for-AP puzzle.
Tuesday October 16: Enter our “AP Appreciation Week Contest” and win an AP library for your department! Enter by e-mailing your name, title, company name, and mailing address to publisher@ap-now.com with the words “AP Deserves Respect” in the subject line. The winner will be notified Tuesday morning. All others will receive a PDF file with a chapter from an AP book. (There are no losers this week!)
Wednesday October 17: We’ve created our first-ever Jumble for a little mid-week fun and will be sending it out on Wednesday morning.
Thursday October 18: Is Webinar day at Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow. While we can’t invite everyone for free, we’ve worked with our service provider to bring you the next best thing: an Accounts Payable Best Practices Webinar for only $49.95! Obviously, this is a one-time only opportunity so if you’ve been wondering about our Webinar programs, this is your chance!
Friday October 19: To end the week on a fun note, we’ve developed a new set of questions for you to use to either play AP Jeopardy or to test yourself.
How can you get these prizes? Simply send an e-mail to publisher@ap-now.com with the words “AP Week” in the subject line. Make sure to include your name, e-mail address, company name, title, and mailing address.
Who can sign up? Any accounts payable professional or professional with an interest in payment issues (No competitors, please).
