Without a doubt, the work currently being done on the accounts payable function is becoming increasingly sophisticated and analytical. With reams of data to evaluate, it’s not surprising that a growing number of professionals are turning to pivot tables to sort through the mass of information. Pivot tables take much of the manual efforts out of the process making professionals more productive and allowing them to spot trends they may have otherwise missed.

On August 25, Rich Lanza has agreed to give a one-hour presentation that will arm attendees with the information they need to effectively use Pivot Tables in their shop. He’ll start by demonstrating how to create a pivot table and then quickly move on to demonstrating real life accounts payable examples including:

  • Tabulating/Reviewing employee performance measures
  • Detecting possible duplicate payments
  • Searching for open credits and organizing by supplier
  • Looking for number trends such as Benford’s Law
  • Calculating average payment trends to suppliers
  • Reviewing accounting distribution (general ledger) data by type and supplier for useful procurement trends
  • Graphing and summarizing invoice payment information by who, when, and where using a few mouse clicks.
  • …and  more

There will be plenty of time at the end for you to ask questions.
