It's a recommended best practice that every organization have a recovery audit done at least once. If you believe your organization is not making any duplicate or erroneous payments, hire one that charges on a contingency basis. If you're right, it won’t cost you much. But if you're wrong, you’ll not only recoup a lot of money for your firm, you’ll be able to plug the holes. Insist that your audit firm provide a management report of any problem areas that may exist.
