Thursday, October 16:

Are Your Independent Contractors Truly Independent Contractors?

Register ($159) here or get the CD too ($259). Order only the CD here.

Let’s face it: the IRS and the states are cracking down. They’ve combined forces in thirteen states for employment audits. What’s more, they’ve now given individuals who believe they are performing as employees rather than independent contractors a form to file making that claim to the IRS at tax time. Even the most conscientious organization can get caught if they aren’t extremely careful. That’s why Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow recruited tax expert Greta Hicks, founder and president of TAX SOLUTIONS, Inc., to provide the most up-to-the minute guidance in this tricky area. Please join us on October 16 as Hicks explains:

  • What your exposure is if you misclassify a worker?
  • What are your expanded risks with today’s stepped up auditing?
  • A review of the classification basics.
  • The most common traps when misclassifying workers.
  • Best practice guidelines for hiring independent contractors to avoid a tax nightmare and much more.
